A series of three sortable guides provide access to a range of curriculum support materials related to Weather and Climate, Pollution Prevention, and Nutrients. The Explorer’s extensive and easy to use lists can be filtered by Grade Level, Geographic Scale, Topic, Learning Mode and Time to Complete. During the webinar, presenters will introduce the three tools, discuss their creation, and facilitate an interactive resource scavenger hunt.

Presenters: Kristin Tepas and Janice Milanovich

Kristin TePas is the Environmental Literacy and Workforce Development Coordinator with Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant and a liaison to the U.S. EPA Great Lakes National Program Office. She works with educators to incorporate Great Lakes literacy into their programming, offering professional learning opportunities and curricular resources to this end. Kristin also is involved with Sea Grant’s workforce development program, providing opportunities for undergraduates and graduates who are interested in environmental careers.  

Janice Milanovich is a Great Lake Educator with Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant who works to enhance Great Lakes literacy by connecting K-12 educators and their students to aquatic science. She was involved in the creation of the Pollution Prevention Explorer and assisted in completing an evaluation of all three Educational Explorers.
